Appreciation for Provenance

At the end of April, we gathered for a new fundraiser, Provenance: A BYO Soirée for CAASE. “Provenance” was the idea of CAASE board member Nisha Aher. As a professional in the wine world, Nisha thought up the idea for this fundraiser to create an event that would blend with her own community of sommeliers and other wine and hospitality professionals with CAASE’s work. Merriam-Webster defines provenance as “origin, source,” or “the history of ownership of a valued object or work of art or literature,” wine’s provenance is noteworthy.

Guests gathered at Verve Wine bar for an evening of connecting and supporting CAASE’s work to build a community free from sexual harm. A delicious dinner was provided by Chef Ethan Lim of Hermosa RestaurantBilly Sunday and Matthias Merges crafted special cocktails for the crowd. Catie Olson DJed, providing a lively soundtrack to the night. Kenny Kim Photography photographed the event – be sure to see more pictures on our social media. Thank you to all of these people who came together to create a very special experience for guests!

Saunté Harden-Tate, CAASE’s community engagement manager, shared some of her original poetry and spoke to the direct impact and importance of believing in and supporting survivors. Kaethe Morris Hoffer also spoke and shared more about her career with CAASE, and how support for our services is especially vital at this time.

The guests who attended Provenance, and the friends who couldn’t be there but donated to support it, came together and raised over $35,000 for CAASE!

If you didn’t get a chance to attend but would still like to support CAASE’s work, you can always make a donation any time on our website.

Thank you again to Nisha Aher for creating and hosting this wonderful event and to each and every person who joined us for a special evening. Support from our community is a powerful way to spread awareness and invite new allies into this work. We are honored to have your support.
